(Technical) Product Manager

About the Job
IMG.LY is looking for a highly motivated and experienced product manager to join our growing team. As a product manager at IMG.LY, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of our SDK products, working closely with the CPO to identify market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them. You will conduct market research to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences, and use this information to inform product development decisions. Additionally, you will manage the product roadmap, coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are delivered on time and to the desired quality standards, and work with the sales and marketing teams to promote the products to potential customers.

You will primarily be working on our Creative Editor SDK product. The SDK itself is a platform that is used to target a multitude of use cases in various business use cases. These can range from Post- and Greeting-cards, PhotoBooks, Apparel, and many more print use cases. However, the same platform is leveraged to also target marketing and social media use cases and various photo-, audio-, or video editing use cases. Your Role
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and plans, including market and competitive analysis, customer feedback, and company goals (https://roadmap.img.ly/)
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams to define product requirements and ensure on-time delivery
  • Manage the entire product life cycle, from conceptualization to launch and post-launch support
  • Analyze product performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and prioritize development efforts
  • Communicate product plans, updates, and progress to stakeholders and teams
  • Organize user and developer experience testing sessions
  • Conduct market research and provide insights
  • Consolidate insights from customers from support and sales into actionable metrics
  • Evaluate and cluster feature requests and define actionable metrics
  • Research common design features for user segments and possible implementation based on use cases and personas
  • Define and align roadmaps with the current strategy
Your profile
  • Strong background in product management, with experience in the software development industry
  • At least three years of experience as a product manager
  • Excellent English communication skills and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • A deep understanding of market research and the ability to use it to inform product development decisions would also be important
  • Maker mindset focussing on fast delivery and iterative improvement

The hiring process will include an assessment task that should take around 2-4 hours of your time and can be done asynchronously. The task will be a realistic example of our day-to-day work and include market research and a prepared pitch to help with feature decisions about new product features.
We will conclude the process with a meeting with your future colleagues where you present the assessment task and we have a discussion about your findings. 

Salary and compensation
The budget for ​this role ranges from EUR60-85K/year depending ​on skill level, number of chosen holidays and workdays, and type of employment. this averages to 70K EUR for 40h/week with 25 days of holidays as Employee of ​record or 85K EUR on a b2b contract.

For employment outside of Germany, we choose the Employee of Record(EOR) Model with the support of third ​party providers such as letsdeel.com. A contractor model is also possible if the country you live in is allowing that for periods longer than one year.

You will work closely with design and engineering, which includes four designers, two engineering managers, and around ten software engineers. On the strategic side, you will have direct communication with the CPO and Co-Founder as well as the heads of the growth team.
